About

A brief that ends is a product decision.

Every other tool in this space is paid by the hour you spend in it. We are paid to give you the hour back.

The information problem in software stopped being scarcity a long time ago. Ten thousand things happen in your field every day and all of them are one click away — advisories, releases, price changes, launches, opinions about launches. None of it is hidden. All of it is available. That is exactly the problem.

So the tools multiplied: digests, feeds, newsletters, dashboards. Each one solved distribution and left you holding the same job — read all of it, decide what matters, decide what to do. That last part is the expensive part, and nobody would do it, because doing it means being wrong in public.

We do it. Every item you receive carries a verdict, an effort estimate, and the reason it is yours. When we don't know something, the field says unknown rather than guessing. When the answer is “this doesn't affect you”, we say that just as loudly — a quiet morning is a real result, not an empty screen.

The measure

Four minutes a morning, then the end card. If a brief takes longer than that, something in it didn't earn its place.

The bet

Subscriptions, not attention. Nothing we build gets better if you stay longer, so nothing we build is designed to keep you.

What we won't do

Sell what we learn about you

Behavioural data improves relevance. It is never sold, never brokered, and never used for advertising — there is no advertising here to use it for.

Pad a quiet day

If four things happened, you get four things. We would rather show you an end card at 06:02 than manufacture a fifth item to look busy.

Hedge to look clever

A verdict is one of seven values, never free text. “It depends” is not a decision, and a confident wrong answer is worse than none at all.

Require access to be useful

Pasting a file is the most private way in and it is not the worst one. Connect repositories if you want the fullest picture, not because we withheld the product.

Who it's for

People who are accountable for a stack and out of hours in the day: engineers who own production, founders deciding where to spend a quarter, and the person on the team who somehow became the one who reads everything.

If you enjoy reading all of it, you don't need us. That is a real answer and we would rather give it than sell you a seat.

Independent, subscription-funded, and small enough that a person reads every support message.

Every incident we've had is written down in the changelog, including the nine days when briefs wouldn't end.

Tomorrow morning, six things.
